Where the word comes from
Haggle grew out of an old English word, haggen, meaning to chop or hack. In the 1500s to haggle meant to cut something roughly; by around 1600 it had taken on the sense it has now — to chop away at a price until both sides agree.
For a long time a haggler, or higgler, was also a trade: someone who bought eggs, butter and vegetables at the farm gate and sold them on in the town market. Haggling was the job.
How to spell it
Haggler — h-a-g-g-l-e-r, with a double g. Heard rather than read, it often gets written as hagler, haglar or heglar; the dictionary spelling is haggler, and the plural is hagglers.

Why a boutique is named Haggler
In India the best haggler most of us know is our mother at the cloth market before Navratri or a wedding. She does not look at the tag first. She feels the fabric, reads the seams, tugs a mirror to see if it holds — and only then talks about money, because by then she knows what the piece is worth.
That is the skill the studio is named for: not the cheapest piece, but the best quality at the best price. Haggler Studio in Shela, Ahmedabad does that checking for you — on every Chaniya Choli, every custom stitch and every alteration. The price on the site is the price, and it is the one she would have got.
